Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (RGNUL)

The Punjabi government created the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL) in 2006 by enacting Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006. It is accepted by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) in accordance with Sections 2(f) and 12-B. Known for its strong legal research atmosphere, state-of-the-art facilities, and academic brilliance, RGNUL is one of India's most prestigious National Law Universities (NLUs).

Situated in Patiala, Punjab, the institution runs its operations from a 50-acre campus that is entirely residential and environmentally friendly. A member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), RGNUL maintains its NAAC accreditation with a 'A' rating.

Procedure for Admission (2025)

  • Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for undergraduate and graduate students
  • Based on a personal interview and university entrance exam for a Ph.D.

Distance/Online Courses

RGNUL does not currently provide online or remote learning degree programs. Every major course is offered full-time on campus.
