The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS)

Founded in 2003 by an act of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, the West Bengal institution of Health Sciences (WBUHS) is a state-run medical and health sciences institution situated in Kolkata, West Bengal. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university is essential to the state's development, regulation, and coordination of AYUSH, medical, dental, nursing, and allied health education.

Admissions Procedure 2025

Admission to UG programs (MBBS, BDS, BPT, etc.) is determined by state counseling and national merit through NEET-UG.

PG Courses (MD, MS, MDS, etc.): Determined by WBUHS counseling and NEET-PG/NEET-MDS scores

Depending on the school, admission tests for allied health/nursing programs may be merit-based or state-level.

Ph.D. Programs: University-conducted interview after entrance exam
